3Dflow Has Released 3DF Zephyr 6.0

The update adds a new Volume of Interest system to help visualize very large data sets interactively, a new Modular Save Structure, a Python console, and more.

3Dflow has shipped a new update for their 3DF Zephyr tool – Zephyr 6.0. For those who don't know, 3DF Zephyr is the photogrammetry software solution by 3Dflow to automatically reconstruct 3D models from photos.

3DF Zephyr 6.0 introduces a number of structural changes intended to make it easier to manipulate the huge datasets that photogrammetry can generate, particularly when scanning environments.

Here are some of the changes:

  • Photoconsistency improvements (speed and accuracy)
  • New faster and efficient modular save zep format
  • Added python Console (supersedes Lua)
  • The new Volume of Interest to select the region of interest
  • New sphere detection
  • Faster mesh decimation
  • Added Planar UV texture reprojection for quickly creating Normal/Albedo Maps on planar surfaces
  • Improved ground filter performances and added manual editing
  • Alembic .abc import and export support
  • Added Horizontal distance in quick measurements
  • Removed cameras limit of three photos
  • And more!
