The editor allows you to create standalone content.
4A Games has released Metro Exodus SDK, providing players with tools to create not only mods but also their own standalone content run from an executable. The developers integrated Mod.io support to make it easier to manage and share content and included a Visual Script Editor.
There is also an unpacked Metro Exodus sandbox level so you can get creative and utilize the full power of the tools.
The SDK features:
- Scene Editor
- Model Editor/Viewer
- Navigation Mode
- Particles Mode
- Terrain Tool
- Weather Editor
- Camera Track Editor
- Visual Script Editor
The fruit of your labor in the Editor can't be used for commercial purposes or for getting profit in any way, it is meant to inspire Exodus fans and help them practice game development.
You can find all the necessary documents on the SDK here.
To use it, you will need to get a copy of Metro Exodus (2019) or Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition from Steam, GOG, or Epic Games Store.
At the moment, 4A Games is working on the next Metro game. You can read more about the development and find the SDK details here.
