A Gorgeous Elf Portrait Made in ZBrush, Substance 3D & UE5.1

Sabin Lalancette revisited a 2020 project made at Squeeze Studio.

Sabin Lalancette, a Senior Character Artist at Ubisoft Québec known to many for creating fantastic characters for the studio's Assassin's Creed games, has recently shared a look at Moon Elf, a marvelous 3D portrait of an elven maiden wearing a detailed suit of medieval-looking armor.

According to the artist, the first draft of Moon Elf was made back in 2020 at Squeeze Studio in collaboration with Thomas Busque Stefanka and Nana Gyawu, who were responsible for rigging and grooming, respectively, with the project's goal being to "explore the possibilities to do realistic 3D movies in Unreal [Engine]". The showcased version of the character was created using Maya, ZBrush, Substance 3D Painter, Marmoset Toolbag, and Unreal Engine 5.1.
