An Animator Made a Free Compilation of Creative Jobs

Chris Mayne, a freelance Character Animator, has been working on a free open-access list of jobs for animators, artists, designers, and other professionals in the entertainment industry.

Job search can be an exhausting process, especially when you're trying to find a dream position in an endless pool of vacancies that are not really that close of a match to what you need. Plus, when it comes to creative jobs in the entertainment industry the challenge becomes even harder as lots of big production companies only post fresh openings on their websites. That means you will not be able to find their vacancies on job search portals and will have to go through your dream employers manually, one by one. Now imagine someone has already done that for you and found all the latest jobs in the industry both in small studios and in huge well-known companies. Well, Chris Mayne has already done exactly that and the list is free and open-access.

This list is without an exaggeration an absolute gem if you're looking to get hired in the industry. It has all the essential information about the jobs including the level of proficiency the position requires, the date the opening was posted, whether or not knowledge of special software is needed, whether or not the employer is ready to help with relocation if you're not authorized to work wherever the company is based, and more. Chris keeps updating the list every day and you will find the most recent job openings at the very top of the spreadsheet.

As Chris explains, he knows the struggle of being unemployed and trying to find a creative job through and through as back in 2016 Arc Productions, a studio where the artist had been working for quite some time, shut down and its employees were left jobless. That is when Chris decided to create a list to help animators, artists, designers, producers to find a place to work.

"The large majority of jobs on the sheet are found by me. I have a set of websites I hit, in addition to perusing social media to see what I can gather. Linkedin especially is a major source," Chris Mayne commented.

So if you are desperately trying to find a position in the industry but seems like there's absolutely nothing out there for you, this list is definitely worth checking out.
