An Improved Custom-Made Version of Google Earth Set Up in Unity

The author utilized Google's recently-released Geospatial Creator to create the project.

Developer and Programmer known only as herbst has recently showcased an absolutely mind-blowing project that demonstrates how Google Earth might look in the future. Utilizing Unity and Google's recently-released Geospatial Creator, a neat tool that enables developers to create world-scale augmented reality experiences, the author has set up a "better Google Earth" with much more detailed and true-to-life 3D versions of the buildings.

According to the developer, the setup uses "3D Tiles (glTF-based) and Cesium's viewer", as well as "Unity and Aero's VPS (visual alignment plus GPS)", and can be used for "referencing AR assets against real world" and "extracting 3D data for various purposes".
