An Ultra-Realistic Rain Shader Made in Unreal Engine 5

Take a look at this cool rain shader, created by Helena Hansen in UE5.

Swedish Character Artist Helena Hansen, known for recreating various game characters, has demonstrated the capabilities of UE5 when it comes to shaders. For context, the artist is currently working on a realistic recreation of Regina from Capcom's 1999 video game Dino Crisis. To achieve the desired result, Helena created a rain shader that was supposed to leave raindrops on the character and make these drops dry in some time. And the result has exceeded all expectations.

The resulting shader looks incredibly subtle and realistic. According to Helena, it was made using the power of Unreal Engine 5. The artist has also recommended checking out Ben Cloward's tutorials to learn more about creating such shaders.
