The debut title of France-based indie studio Sunny Lab is coming next year.
If you like games with hand-drawn anime graphic style and heartwarming setups, be sure to check out Witch's Bakery, a 2D Aventure RPG that draws inspiration from “Kiki's Delivery Service, Persona 5 and Paris.”
In this cute game, you take the role of Lunne, a young witch baker who is capable of “seeing into people's heart and heal emotions through magic.” Soon after moving to Paris, you set up a bakery and start a warm journey.
During the day, you and the team are busy running the shop. The bakery’s business will earn you money, fame, and experience; after finishing a day’s work, you can wander around the city to relax, visit scenic spots, and discover the city’s secrets. Nights are when you take a good rest to improve your magic, decorate the bakery to what you like, and spend some time in the atelier.

One of the highlights of the game is the highly realistic city map of Paris. “Each district has its own characters, activities and shops,” reads the game’s description. As you explore the vibrant city, you have the opportunity to buy some nice decorations for your shop, meet various people, and build relationships with them.

Some of your friends are struggling with deeply hidden troubles, and you can enter the “Heart Palace,” a dark place contrary to the vibrant Paris where emotions exist, to help them heal by adding a special ingredient to the bread. It is a challenging yet healing journey as you help them overcome their emotions and vulnerabilities.

For one moment, I wondered why the game was set in Paris specifically. I have a great impression of the capital city despite a short trip there. Seeing iconic buildings like the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame de Paris was a stunning experience, and the boat trip on the Seine River at sunset was a truly memorable moment.
This mystery was immediately resolved with the introduction of the developer — Sunny Lab is an indie team formed by experienced developers from France. As their debut title, Witch's Bakery will bring us an authentic city tour.

The game is scheduled to launch in 2025, and there is a Steam page that shows game information. Its Kickstarter campaign reached its goal within two days, and by the time the article was published, the project had received nearly double the original goal.
