Breakdown: Making Realistic Hair With XGen & Photoshop

Hazel Brown has provided a behind-the-scenes look at the hairstyle created for the recent Ms.Orc project.

3D Character/Hair Artist Hazel Brown, known to many for producing in-depth tutorials on creating realistic digital hair, has recently shared a new breakdown offering a behind-the-scenes look at the incredible coiffure made for Ms.Orc, a 3D model presented by the artist the week before.

With this breakdown, the creator showcased the reference images used to set up the hair, shared multiple WIP renders and materials, and showed how the hairstyle was made step-by-step using XGen, Photoshop, and xNormal, a free app to bake texture maps. According to the artist, a lengthier and more thorough tutorial, similar to Hazel's earlier ones, will be released in the near future. You can check out the full breakdown by clicking this link.
