Counter-Strike 2 Files Hint at New Operation, Weapons & Mobile Version

A lot to unpack from the code.

Limited testing of Counter-Strike 2, a new version of Global Offensive built on the Source 2 engine, attracts not only millions of players but also plenty of data miners. Some of them have discovered curious information in the game's files.

First of all, there are several new weapons revealed by the well-known content creator Gabe Follower, including some knives, bear trap, a tripwire grenade, and a pipe, which could be a melee weapon or a new type of grenade.

There has also been found something like an anti-cheat measure that should cancel matches if someone is not playing right.

What's more, there seem to be references to "mobile", which could hint at a version of the game for phones or could just be leftovers from other games. According to Gabe Follower, the information is not present in Dota 2 or the Aperture Desk Job files but exists in Dota Underlords and Artifact – titles developed for mobiles.

Apart from this, the data miner also mentions evidence of a new Operation being developed: there are new weapon collections, pins, and cosmetic items.

Naturally, all this doesn't actually prove we will see the new content in Counter-Strike, but the possibility is there.
