Creative Assembly Publishes an Overview of Game Careers

Creative Assembly unveiled a detailed layout of job descriptions and tools that can help you pursue a career in the games industry.

If you're pursuing a career in the gaming industry but don't know exactly where to start – what skills you need to have for a certain job or what software you need to learn – Creative Assembly, the developer best known for such titles as Alien: Isolation and the Total War series, has published an overview of various careers that could help you learn more about the industry and make your choice easier.

In this short guide, you will find a list of over 45 careers accompanied by key skills you need to have to become a specialist in a certain field along with a brief but clear description of what those skills involve.

For instance, if you're interested in design, Creative Assembly suggests a number of options where you will be able to architect a game experience defining the rules of the game world and narrative and oversee creative development including such jobs as Systems Designer, Level Designer, Combat Designer, AI Designer, Writer, and more. 

Each specialization has a brief description of responsibilities along with skills you need to have and software you have to master.

Creative Assembly notes that although the overview doesn't show everything in the vast games industry, it still can be a good introduction.
