Data Visualization in the Style of Famous Artists Created Using DALL-E

What Picasso's, Monet's, and Leonardo da Vinci's charts could look like.

In the style of Monet

Ethan Mollick showed a curious experiment with DALL-E, an AI-powered text-to-image tool, trying to create data visualization in the style of famous artists. Mollick used various unusual prompts and art styles of Picasso, Monet, Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, and many other artists.

Leonardo da Vinci

Vincent van Gogh

Mollick also experimented with other descriptions, making charts look like glass, stone monoliths, and columns of fire.

Bar charts as stained glass in an old cathedral

Bar charts as ancient stone monoliths on a grassy plain

Bar charts made of great columns of fire in the sky at the end of the world

There are also some especially creative takes on data:

Bar charts made out of cake

Bar chart made out of writhing tentacles

Bar chart made of Jell-O

Bar chart on a knight's shield

Bar chart made of bones

Bar chart traced by the masts of tall ships in a Turner painting

The idea is similar to another great project, where DALL-E 2 generated images in the style of photographers.
