Domestic Sales of Splatoon 3 for Nintendo Switch Reach 3.45M in 3 Days

That's a record for any Nintendo Switch software.

Nintendo revealed that domestic sales of the Splatoon 3 for the Nintendo Switch surpassed 3.45 million in just three days since its launch on September 9, 2022. The company noted this is a record number for any Nintendo Switch software within the first three days.

The Splatoon game series offers you to play as Inklings — squid characters that can also take on a humanoid form. The first Splatoon chapter for the Wii U system was launched in May 2015, followed by Splatoon 2 for Nintendo Switch in July 2017.

The third part lets players face off against each other in two teams of four players, battling for territory. The game also features the Story Mode where players explore a mysterious place called Alterna on their own, plus Salmon Run, where up to four players can team up to fight mighty bosses.

Currently, Nintendo plans to add more weapons and stages via updates for two years after launch. They will also hold events such as Splatfests.
