DOOM Eternal Earned Over $450 Million in First Nine Months

An impressive result, taking into account there’s no microtransactions in the game.

DOOM Eternal generated over $450M in the first nine months after the release. The information was shared by a former monetization designer at idSoftware in the resume.

Released in March 2020, right at the beginning of the world pandemic, the game was critically acclaimed by games and even got 90/100 on Metacritic. Bethesda also reported that the launch week of Doom Eternal was even more than twice bigger than DOOM (2016), making it a record sales statistic in the franchise. The number of concurrent players is also more than doubled compared to DOOM (2016) — 104,891 users and 44,271 users respectively.
