Former NASA Engineer Develops A VR Version Of Donkey Kong

The classic game can now be played in VR.

Paul Nathan, a former member of the VR Lab at NASA’s JSC presented a VR version of the legendary Donkey Kong game. As always you have to smash barrels and climb to the very top. The project is a VR experience designed for the Oculus Quest 2.

The thing is that the VR version makes you move and that is basically a good cardio workout, so the fans of VR titles The Climb and Supernatural might find the project interesting.

"Like a lot of people I have a love for classic games. There’s an old-school arcade I started going to back in college and I’d spend hours there. I wanted to see what a classic game would look like inside VR," the developer told VRScout, "Unlike other popular arcade titles Donkey Kong has interactions that translate well into VR."
