GDC Will Go Offline Again in 2022

Informa Tech, the organizer of the conference, announced that GDC 2022 will be an in-person event that will take place in San Francisco in March 2022.

"We also absolutely look forward to the return of GDC 2022 to San Francisco next year and for the opportunity to see this vibrant community together again in person," said Katie Stern, VP of Entertainment Media at Informa Tech.

This means that Game Developers Conference will return to the Moscone Center after being an online-attendance-only event for two years. GDC 2022 will take place from March 21 through March 25. It is not yet clear whether there will be a possibility of joining the event online or not as so far the organizers have only referred to the event as a "physical conference".

The submission period for the upcoming in-person Game Developers Conference runs from August 3 to August 31, 2021.

GDC is not the only major event in the game world that is expected to come back as an offline event in 2022 — E3 will also return as an in-person exhibition.
