God of War Ragnarök Achieves 11 Million Copies Sales Milestone

The game has achieved this significant sales milestone within its first three months.

God of War Ragnarök has achieved a noteworthy sales milestone. Santa Monica Studio has revealed that the action-adventure game has exceeded 11 million copies sold. The figure likely encompasses sales across both PS4 and PS5, as well as those included in hardware bundles.

The developer shared the news in a tweet accompanied by a playful GIF of protagonist Kratos forming a heart with his hands as a sign of gratitude.

"We’re incredibly humbled that God of War Ragnarök has officially sold through 11 million copies!" Santa Monica wrote. "None of this would be possible without the support of our fans, so thank you for coming on this journey with us."

The 11 million figure is indeed a fantastic result but given the game is a PlayStation exclusive – only available on PS4 and PS5 consoles – the achievement is even more impressive.

The previous sales report stated that God of War Ragnarök sold 5.1 million units in its initial five days, which means that the game sold an additional 5.9 million units in the 11 weeks between that time and the present.

In November 2022, Sony disclosed that 2018's God of War had sold over 23 million copies as of September 30, 2022. It is worth mentioning that these sales include the PC version of the game, so a significant increase can be expected for God of War Ragnarök if it becomes available on PC.
