The game also received a haunting folk song.
Indie game developer David Wehle announced that his game, We Harvest Shadows, achieved 100k wishlists on Steam in just 22 days, a "pie-in-the-sky goal" he was trying to achieve in a year.
In case you missed our coverage of the game last month, We Harvest Shadows is a mixture of farming simulation and psychological horror, inspired by “slow-burn P.T.-style psychological horror games and Edith Finch-style personal first-person titles.” You are Garret, who moves to an old farm and becomes a recluse to spend the rest of your life there alone. The game is set to bring a fresh farming sim experience that could turn out to be the scariest one you’ve ever had.
Meanwhile, Wehle shared a folk song written by his friend for the game. “Noises behind me, terrors unwind me” is probably what's going to happen in the game, and the way the singer performs the song conveys more of the story than the lyrics alone.
Some fans have repeatedly played the demo and enjoyed the amazing atmosphere it has presented. If you haven’t tried it yet, don’t hesitate to check it out here.
