Jason Schreier: The Next AC Will Be A Large-Scale Live Service Game

The next game in the Assassin's Creed series will be called Assassin's Creed: Infinity and will be an evolving entity with regular updates that add new content.

Ubisoft's biggest franchise, Assassin's Creed, will receive a massive overhaul, that will change the future of the franchise unexpectedly. According to Bloomberg, Ubisoft is currently working on a brand new Assassin's Creed game that will be called Assassin's Creed Infinity, which will be a live service title with the evolving world, much like Fortnite and GTA V.

"A new project, which is known inside Ubisoft Entertainment SA by the code name Assassin’s Creed Infinity, sets out to create a massive online platform that evolves over time, according to people familiar with its development. Whereas previous Assassin’s Creed games each unfolded in specific historical settings such as ancient Greece or Ptolemaic Egypt, Infinity will contain multiple settings with room to expand to others in the months and years following its debut. Individual games on the platform might look and feel different, but they will all be connected," reads the report.

UPD: Ubisoft has officially confirmed Assassin’s Creed Infinity to be in development at its Montreal, and Quebec studios. In a blog post, the publisher also confirmed that Jonathan Dumont and Clint Hocking are the game’s creative directors.
