Maxon's Forger is Now Available for Free

Here's your chance to get into 3D sculpting free of charge.

In case you missed the news, Maxon's powerful 3D sculpting and coloring tool for iPad Forger can now be downloaded for free. Previously, the app was pay-to-use with a $10 price for a perpetual license, but now it is completely free, with additional functions being unlocked via paid subscription. The changes were made last month.
Forger was created back in 2011 by CG Artist Javier Edo but became Maxon's property after Javier joined the company. The app comes with all the tools a 3D sculptor needs, including such brushes as Standard, Clay, Smooth, Move, Pull, Flatten, Polish, Scrape, Planar, Inflate, Crease, Stamp, and Mask, Transform and Caliper tools, ability to Clear, Invert, Blur, Sharpen, Grow and Shrink masks, features like automated retopology, masking, vertex painting and more. Its users are available to sculpt using either Apple Pencil or the multitouch interface.

According to Maxon, the only difference between the free and non-free versions is the former's limit of three active files and the fact that it does not share data directly with Cinema4D, other than that, the 2 versions are completely similar. The pay-to-use version of Forger is now available via a $14.99/year subscription, or as part of a Maxon One subscription and unlocks the aforementioned interoperability with C4D.
