Microsoft has officially lodged its appeal against the decision of the UK antitrust regulator to block its $69 billion deal with Activision Blizzard.

As reported by Bloomberg, submitted the filing to the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT), which is responsible for handling appeals against CMA rulings, on Wednesday, the day of the appeal deadline.
The processing time for an appeal at the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) can span up to nine months. Typically, court cases are evaluated by a panel of three judges, with one of them possessing substantial expertise in the subject matter, as Bloomberg emphasized.
While Microsoft representatives declined to provide any specific comments regarding the appeal, they did confirm that the company had indeed filed it.
The UK's antitrust regulator blocked Microsoft's planned acquisition of Activision Blizzard in late April. The CMA's final decision was based on concerns that the takeover would have negative consequences for the cloud gaming market, hindering innovation and limiting player choice.
Earlier, regulators in the European Union and China granted approval to Microsoft's Activision Blizzard deal.
