New Procedural Features in Adobe Substance 3D Designer

The tool now features a bunch of new tools for procedural asset creation.

Substance 3D Designer 11.2 is here bringing exciting new features procedural 3D modelling app. There's a new model graph letting users kitbash simple geometric shapes and generate new 3D assets.

The toolkit is now described as material- and model-authoring software as the latest update adds the new model graph for procedural 3D geometry.

Among other upgrades are five new ray tracing-enabled materials nodes, support for the Adobe Standard Material. There's also the option to send assets directly to other Substance apps and publish .sbsar files directly.

For those of you who missed the new, Substance suite is now a part of the new Adobe Substance 3D Tools featuring a couple of new tools. The new suite also features Substance 3D Painter, Substance 3D Sampler, and a new tool called Substance 3D Stager.

As for Substance 3D Designer, the tool lets users merge basic shapes together in a kitbash manner. This allows users to create assets that can be then exported to other DCC tools via the geometry export options.

    I'm excited about how far you can go with the procedural modeling in Substance Designer. I can't imagine it will have the same scaling and flexibility as we know it from Houdini.
