NVIDIA has introduced G-SYNC Ultra Low Motion Blur 2, an upgraded version of the original ULMB technology for G-SYNC monitors that significantly enhances motion clarity in games.
NVIDIA has unveiled G-SYNC Ultra Low Motion Blur 2 (ULMB 2), an enhanced version of the original ULMB technology for G-SYNC monitors that was first introduced in 2015. ULMB 2 builds upon its predecessor's capabilities and is set to provide gamers with improved motion clarity during intense gaming sessions.
ULMB 2 technology is primarily targeted toward professional gamers who prioritize exceptional clarity at the highest achievable frame rates.
According to NVIDIA, ULMB 2 aims to improve the gaming experience for competitive gamers by offering motion clarity exceeding 1000 Hz. The company also states that the technology provides full refresh rate backlight strobing, a substantial boost in brightness compared to its predecessor, and almost no crosstalk.
To illustrate the impact of ULMB 2, NVIDIA showcased a comparison between a 480Hz monitor without ULMB 2 and a 120Hz display with ULMB 2. Despite the discrepancy in refresh rates, NVIDIA highlights that the image is clearer with ULMB 2 enabled.
ULMB 2 is already available for free, although it is worth noting that not all monitors currently support this technology. At present, the Acer Predator XB273U F and Asus ROG Swift 360Hz PG27AQN are among the initial models offering ULMB 2 upon release. Additionally, support for ULMB 2 will be extended to other monitors such as the Asus ROG Swift Pro PG248QP and AOC Agon AG276QSG in the future.
