Overwatch 2 Devs Acknowledge the Problems with the Game's Ranking System, Promise Changes

The game's director Aaron Keller says that the team is aware of Overwatch 2's problems with ranking and reward systems and says that changes are coming in Season 3 and Season 4.

The development team behind Overwatch 2 has recently acknowledged the problems with the game's ranking and reward systems and promised to fix them in the near future.

On January 27, Overwatch 2 director Aaron Keller published a developer update note where he shared the developers' plans for the third and fourth seasons of the online shooter.

According to Keller, the team is aware of an issue with the current ranking system that players are confused about. In particular, players do not understand what their actual rank is and how it correlates to their skill level. In addition, people are not satisfied with the game's matchmaking since players who have different ranks may be put in the same match.

Keller said that the team received feedback from the game's fans and that it will make some changes to the ranking system bringing some clarity to the players. Several changes will be implemented in the upcoming Season 3 and a few more of them will come with the release of Season 4.

The game director also acknowledged that players are not getting as many rewards as they would like during the game and promised that the team will make a change in Season 3 of the game that should address this issue. According to Keller, this change will only be the first step in solving this issue and the developers will share more details during the week from January 30 to February 5.
