PlayFab: Go To Place to Try new Services for Games

PlayFab is finally free. This platform allows game developers to integrate analytics, monetization and other services in their product in no time.

PlayFab is a new infrastructure service for game developers. It’s a great platform for people, working with PC and mobile games. The best thing is that now you can actually get access to the basic PlayFab features for free. Previously it was a paid service. Today you can access to PlayFab Services Marketplace free of charge, which is great news for game developers, who are trying to find new ways to improve their position in the mobile and online games market.

At launch PlayFab Services Marketplace provides access to 24 third-party services, including Kochava, Innervate, Xsolla, Appuri. All these services are available for the game developers with one touch of a button, as all of them are already integrated.

PlayFab was initially designed as a way to let developers fight with SDK troubles. With PlayFab there’s no need to update software development kits for third-party services for a connected game. PlayFab does all these integrations and takes care of all these troubles. Developers just have to click a button on a dashboard and the service will work in game.

PlayFab does have paid services as well. Big corporate clients can buy enterprise services, if they can afford the service fee.

It’s a great solution for companies doing online or mobile games or trying to work in this competitive market. So far there’s a whole bunch of various services available under the PlayFab Marketplace. You can pick up services for supporting multiplayer games or to get swift access to distribution platforms. There’s also marketing options, content management platforms (GitHub), analytics and advertising services.

One of the best things that PlayFab provides are the monetization services. With such platforms as Xsolla, you can integrate a complete online store into your game with in-app goods sales and in-app currency distribution supporting 700+ payment options around the world. And it’s all free to indie developers, who still don’t earn much. Great way to try it out and figure out what service to use.
