Pokémon Go Devs Are Making An AR Game For Marvel

The project will feature similar gameplay mechanics.

The Marvel universe will get its own augmented reality game – Marvel World of Heroes, set to be released in 2023, was revealed during the D23 2022 expo. The mobile game is being created by Niantic, the company that previously developed Pokémon Go.

Marvel World of Heroes will offer players to use their mobile devices for AR-based gameplay. Players will be able to create their own superhero identity and then fight different foes. According to the first trailer, the game will bring Thor’s hammer Mjolnir, Cyclops' lasers, Doctor Strange’s sorcery, and other well-known abilities and equipment.

Like other AR-based titles, including Pokémon Go and The Witcher: Monster Slayer, users will need to explore real-world areas and complete certain tasks to unlock upgrades.

Little is known about its release date, but you can pre-register on the game’s website. Don't forget to join our Reddit page and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
