Pulldownit 5.5 for Maya Has Been Released

The update brings workflow and performance improvements, enhanced tools, and more.

Thinkinetic has announced the release of Pulldownit 5.5 for Maya, a new and improved version of the company's dynamics plug-in for setting up destruction effects and rigid body simulations in Maya. The upgraded version of the plug-in comes with several useful workflow and performance improvements, as well as brings a number of enhancements to Pulldownit's tools.

The highlight of the update is the improvements to the Shatter It tool, which has been enhanced with multi-threading and optimization, resulting in up to 8x faster shattering compared to the previous version. Chip areas of the model can also be processed more quickly, and you can easily discard shatter centers directly in the viewport.

The Bounded Cracks feature introduced in version 5.0 has been improved with the ability to make them dynamic at a specified frame, enabling simultaneous tearing of cracks along the entirety of an object's surface.

Additionally, the new version brings the ability to modify parameters for multiple cracks at once, an improved dynamic solver for better results with default settings, adds support for Maya Cache Playback, and comes with multiple fixes designed to make the plug-in more predictable and reliable than ever before.
