Realistic Bird Poop Placement in Ninja Theory's Upcoming Hellblade II

Here's a fun little game feature you wouldn't think you would need.

Although some might say that the gamedev industry has got stale and not that interesting in recent years, some developers still manage to amuse their audiences with fun and neat features they implement in their games. This time, Ninja Theory, the studio behind Enslaved, Devil May Cry, and the Hellblade series, demonstrated a fun little feature they plan to add to the upcoming Hellblade II.

The team released a new work-in-progress demo that showcases a tool they created for, wait for it, realistic bird poop placement. According to the demo, the tool allows the team to scatter white bird poop across Icelandic rocks, creating a level of immersivity you've never seen before. The Ninja Theory team commented that the tool was made to achieve a high level of realism from reference material.

As said before, the poop-scattering tool was created for the studio's upcoming Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, a continuation of the Hellblade series first announced back in 2019. The game will be set in ninth-century Iceland and will follow the events of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. The game will be exclusive for Xbox Series X/S and PC and is being developed with Unreal Engine 5.
