Redfall's Sadie Boyd: "I Didn't Anticipate My Peers Openly Mocking the Difficult Launch"

Arkane's Senior 2D Artist addressed the gaming community's negative comments regarding the current state of the studio's Redfall.

Sadie Boyd, the Senior 2D Artist at Arkane Studios who worked on Redfall, took to Twitter to address negative feedback from the gaming community about the current state of the game.

Boyd expressed unpleasant surprise that not only gamers but also other game developers have ridiculed the game's launch, saying that she "did not anticipate peers, friends, or colleagues openly mocking and being gleeful of a difficult launch".

Earlier, it was also reported that Redfall's peak concurrent player count on Steam only reached 6,124 users, marking one of the lowest results for any of Arkane Studios' games. So far, the game has received mostly negative reviews, with only 59 out of 100 points for the Xbox version and 57 out of 100 points for the PC version, according to Metacritic.

The game's poor release has also been commented on by Xbox's Phil Spencer, who apologized for the initial release condition of Redfall and stated that developer Arkane Austin will focus on enhancing the game.
