Resident Evil 4 Remake Reaches 168,000 Concurrent Players on Steam

The game has beaten its previous record of 140,000 concurrent players set on its launch day.

The remake of Capcom's Resident Evil 4 became an instant success, attracting over 140,000 concurrent players on its launch day, March 24.

The following day, March 25, the success of the game continued to soar as it reached an even more impressive peak, with 168,191 players simultaneously playing on Steam (via SteamDB).

This peak of concurrent users on the platform is the highest ever recorded for any Resident Evil game to date. For comparison, the previous record holder in the series was Resident Evil: Village, whose peak of concurrent players on Steam was 106,631 people.

The Resident Evil 4 remake also currently ranks as the second best-selling game on Steam in the US, surpassed only by Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
