Resident Evil: Village Has The Best Launch Month Of 2021 So Far

The game continues to lead charts around the globe.

According to the latest NPD Group report, overall consumer spending on games in the US increased by 3% to $4.45. For those of you who missed the news, April showed a 2% decrease, the first fall after 13 straight months of year-over-year industry growth.

The report states that spending on content across console, mobile, PC, cloud, and subscription services generated $4.07 billion, while hardware made $244 million.

Resident Evil Village was the best-selling game of the month and had the best first-month sales of any new game in 2021. Congrats to the team behind the game! Nintendo Switch is once again the best-selling platform (unit sales and dollar sales) for the fourth straight month.
