Self-Made Animation References Created for Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio

Savannah Steiner demonstrated some of her real-life performances that were used as animation references for the 2022 Pinocchio.

Savannah Steiner, an Artist and Stop-Motion Animator who worked on Guillermo del Toro's award-winning 2022 musical dark fantasy film Pinocchio, has recently shared a short video providing a look at some of the self-made references she made while working on the film.

Showing Savannah acting as the movie's main character, the demo explains how Pinocchio's movement fluidity was achieved in stop-motion and underlines the importance of references for 3D Animators. According to the author, some of the references were not copied perfectly because "some actions worked better in the moment while animating to the voice acting".
