Simulating Lifelike Muscles With Dynamic Joints in Maya

Alex Fern previewed a neat technique for rigging realistic characters and creatures.

Character Rigger TD and CFX Artist Alex Fern has recently showcased a neat WIP technique for creating realistic character and creature rigs in Autodesk Maya. Currently in its testing phase, the technique involves programming dynamic joints to simulate lifelike muscles, as showcased in the demo above.

While not much is known about the creator's approach at this stage, Alex plans to release a detailed tutorial once the project is complete, explaining how the technique was developed. We highly encourage you to follow him on LinkedIn and visit his official website to stay updated on any upcoming developments.
