According to a new report shared recently by Bloomberg, Sony plans to drastically increase the production of the PlayStation VR2 headset, aiming to produce 2 million units by March 2023. For comparison, it took eight months for the company to sell 1 million units of PSVR1.
As Bloomberg's anonymous sources report, the mass production of the PSVR2 headset began in September and hasn’t yet faced any supply chain constraints. Allegedly, the company may adjust the exact number of headsets it wants to produce depending on the sales numbers it shows upon release. Unfortunately, the exact release date and price of PSVR2 remain unknown, with the only information regarding the matter being the release window of "early 2023".
