Square Enix Launches Mobile Studio in London

Square Enix launched a new studio in London focused on developing free-to-play mobile games.

The team will be led by studio head Ed Perkins, previously director of mobile publishing at Square Enix.

The studio is said to be developing two titles, based on Tomb Raider and Nickelodeon's Avatar: The Last Airbender. The first game is Tomb Raider Reloaded, a top-down action and puzzle game, being developed in partnership with Crystal Dynamics. It will launch on iOS and Android in 2022.

The untitled Avatar: The Last Airbender is being created in partnership with Navigator Games, a Vancouver-based team.
