Tencent Shuts Down Call of Duty Online

The Chinese gamers are urged to play Call of Duty Mobile instead.

The Chinese-only free installment of Call of Duty will be closed later this year. The news was announced via the Game's official website. The game's operational team confirmed that registration is now unavailable, and the game's servers will then shut down completely on August 31st, 2021. According to the announcement, "declining revenue and lack of renewal from Activision" are to be held responsible for the game's shutdown.

Players are also being encouraged to move over to Call of Duty Mobile following the shutdown. The operational team promises some game items in COD Mobile as compensation.
