Virtex Has Raised $3.2 Million in a Round of Seed Funding

The creator of the VR-focused virtual esports stadium Virtex has secured $3.2 million in seed funding. The money will go towards expanding the company's team.

Virtex, the creator of the VR-focused virtual esports stadium, announced it has raised $3.2 million in a round of seed funding. The seed investment was supported by institutional investors Global Founders Capital, Sure Valley, All Iron Ventures, Graph Ventures, Mario Götze, and André Schürrle.

The round coincides with a partnership with Meta and Echo VR. The raised capital along with the new partnership will help the company expand its team, facilitate its growth, and establish its presence through similar partnerships.

Developed by a team of esports competitors, Virtex Stadium is a live broadcasting platform designed to host and stream live 3D videos of esports games to viewers. With the help of the platform, people can join a lobby to view the gameplay in the center of the stadium chatting and hanging around with a number of other users. They also can join the game and follow their favorite players in real-time. The platform can support hundreds of users at a time.

The creators of Virtex Stadium note that they are trying to build a platform that both immerses users into the most exciting experience in esports and brings people much closer to the game. "Virtex removes the limitations of the real world to redefine the fan experience, allowing experimentation and innovation to help create unforgettable live shows and events," the developers say.
