Xbox Series X/S Hits 100K Sales in Japan in Less Than a Year

Xbox One needed 4 years to achieve the same number.

According to a report by a Japanese news website Famitsu, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles have surpassed 100K units sold in Japan in less than one year. The report shows that the Xbox Series X has sold a total of 62,284 units, while the Series S has tallied 38,307. That might not sound like a huge number, given the number of potential buyers in Japan, but it is still way faster than Xbox One, which needed 50 months to hit 100K.

However, the Japanese market still remains a problematic one for Xbox, since it is heavily dominated by PlayStation 5, which passed 1 million units sold in Japan as of September, so Xbox is still only at 10% of its sales there this generation. And yet the fact that Xbox is dramatically outperforming the Xbox One generation is still noteworthy.
