Cyber-Shinobi - Character Game Art

This is my Term 2 project at 3dsense Media School, produced between April - July 2022. This involved me sculpting the high-res model in ZBRUSH, Retopo , Rigging and UV unwrapping in MAYA, baking in MARMOSET and SUBSTANCE 3D PAINTER, texturing the model in substance painter and finally compiling everything in MARMOSET TOOL BAG 4 with lighting for presentation. 
 I wanted to get as close to the concept art as possible: trying to get all the proportions and assets right while also adding additional details to give the model visual depth and material readability. 
Over the course of the project, I wanted to make the character’s suit feel as sci-fi as possible so i created custom zbrush alphas in illustrator that resembled circuit boards fabric and tactical suits to sell the idea of a Cyber Shinobi.

BLACKMARKET CLINIC

As my Term 3 project at 3Dsense Media School, I converted an exisiting 2D concept into this 3D environment art model. 
I wanted to get as close to the concept art as possible: trying to recreate the dreary lighting and aesthetic of the original concept art, and create an atmosphere similar to that of a rundown ripper doc clinic from Cyberpunk 2077. 
The process involved me blocking out everything in MAYA, UV unwrapping, sculpting unique assets in ZBRUSH, baking, texturing them in SUBSTANCE PAINTER and finally importing them into UNREAL for lighting and making an in-game environment. 
I wanted to make the environment feel like a lived-in space. I ended up designing and building additional assets that lay off-camera from the concept art, and I added more details to assets that were not clear in the concept, while staying true to the grungy, dilapidated sci-fi vibe.

NYM-Surrogate of the Moon _Creature Sculpt

Hi Guys, I'm a Student studying 3d Game Art in Singapore, 
Here is the creature sculpt i made for our Intro to Zbrush class assignment. 
I come from an Architecture background but had little to no experience in zbrush , after joining my current school it's been a wild 4 months of learning new software, improving my visual library , understanding sculpting techniques while using different brushes, alphas and textures . This project also helped me understand human and creature anatomy better. 
This will be the first of many more projects to come.

LEM-01 - Robot modelling and texturing assignment

This Project is a result of my Maya and Texturing assignment for school , It involved finding a 2d robot concept ,modelling ,topo and UV in Maya and texturing it in Substance 3D painter , I took it a step further and rendered it in Marmoset. 
The enjoyed the texturing part quite a bit as i was able to make up a backstory for the character which helped me place it in a specific environment or world setting ( in this case , an abandoned police droid found in a junkyard joins an underground robot fight ring) this is reflected on the wear and tear of the body and the new paint job and decals found on it now. 
This assignment helped me familiarize myself with the Maya to Substance to marmoset workflow and become more proficient with texturing and lighting. 
The true challenge was understanding topology in Sub-D modelling but now i have a decent understanding of it moving forward.

Ruby Red - Sparrow Design - Destiny 2 Fan 

This is personal Project for a Destiny 2 Fan art that I started a long time ago when I first picked up 3d modeling seriously, going at it slowly learning Maya and Zbrush. Then I got to finally go back to school for 3D Game art which helped me improve my skill set exponentially in a short period of time. Now I got back to this project with fresh eyes and had a better idea of what I wanted to do with it in terms of design and presentation. I had a lot of fun with this project especially sculpting and texturing the Titan character, the multiple backgrounds/ Roads created using Quixel mixer and substance painter and designing several lighting setups for my renders.

WRATH OF INDRA - Sci-fi Grenade Launcher - 3D Hardsurface Model

This is my first weapon model. The original concept only had the front 3/4 view so I designing the visor and back of the weapon with design choices that would work with the existing artwork . The original ammo attached to the weapon is pretty plain so i decided to give it a more sci-fi look, feel and purpose by redesigning it to serve as surveillance and reconnaissance drones that can be launched from the GL where they can stay suspended in air above a designated area and when the time is right they will all be deployed all at once raining Hellfire on a target. I did a quick animation of the drone deployment . Finally, as with all my projects i look for new ways to present my work by studying existing artists and game studios. I have always loved how the artists at Bungie present their new exotic weapons before every season in Destiny 2 and i HAD to give that style a go.
