90s Personal Computer

Created by Ben Marriner.

90s Personal Computer project aimed to model a tech system inspired by the late 90s. The computer system is based on the IBM Personal Computer 330-450DX2 and includes a PC tower, CRT monitor, keyboard, and mouse, all modeled after various IBM models from the same era. The CRT monitor features a custom material that displays authentic-looking CRT images, resulting in a slightly pixelated image on the screen when viewed up close. This effect can be seen in action on the project’s ArtStation post.

Canopy Walkway

Created by Milena Meyer.

Canopy Walkway project explores Unreal Engine’s new PCG system, integrating it with procedural tools created in Houdini. Using LIDAR data from a campsite in Golden Gate Canyon State Park, a realistic landscape was crafted to serve as the foundation for Unreal's PCG system, which quickly populated the scene with trees and ground cover. The walkways were designed using a spline blueprint to instance railings, while a PCG system was applied to distribute lights along the path. For the raised platforms, a Houdini procedural tool was developed to generate a variety of shapes and styles, enhancing visual diversity. This project showcases the potential of Unreal Engine’s new features and advances procedural design techniques.

Hospice

Created by Henry Nunez.

Hospice is an environment project completed in 10 weeks for Jon Arellano's Environments for Games class at Gnomon. During that time, Henry learned optimized, effective, and quick techniques, including RGB masking, tileable textures, trim sheets, and decals to bring this experience to life. It was a great way to practice modeling and UV mapping skills for multiple props in a short amount of time. As a long-time horror fan, the creator immersed himself in the process and was able to deliver his passion for the genre into the project.
