There’s no rush, no pressure. Just you, your car, a relaxing soundtrack, and the open road in Keep Driving.
It’s the early 2000s. You’ve just bought your first car before a long, cozy summer holiday, and you’ve got a crazy idea - drive across the country to join a festival you heard about. There’s no rush, no pressure. Just you, your car, a relaxing soundtrack, and the open road. That’s the vibe you’ll be enjoying in Keep Driving, an atmospheric management RPG about life on the open road.
Keep Driving is developed by Y/CJ/Y, a small indie studio based in Sweden, which draws inspiration from classic titles like Oregon Trail II, FTL, and Two-Lane Blacktop, as well as the real-life experience of the developers. It features a beautifully pixelated open world that is procedurally generated. “Pick up hitchhikers with their own personalities and stories; upgrade, customize and repair your car.”
Similar to real life, you’ll face various challenges on the road, like getting stuck behind a tractor or dealing with a flat tire, which can be resolved using a “unique turn-based ‘combat’ system.” Along the way, you can also collect resources and songs and listen to a mix of CDs with real indie tracks from Swedish bands.
There will be different endings, and each playthrough takes about 1-4 hours. So, if you reach the end of your road trip, return to the beginning, choose another path, and enjoy new sceneries and challenges.
