Black Myth: Wukong Reportedly Delays on Xbox Due to Exclusivity Deal

The new information implies that it was not optimization issues that prevented the release.

Game Science

Black Myth: Wukong's launch on Xbox was reportedly delayed not because of technical issues but because of a possible exclusivity deal.

Recently, it was reported that the release on Xbox didn't follow the title's launch instantly due to an exclusivity deal with Sony, which wasn't publicized either by Sony or by Game Science, Black Myth: Wukong's developer. Previously, it was unofficially stated after Gamescom that a memory leak issue caused the delay. Xbox developers said that the game's release on the console was delayed indefinitely as it had not been able to pass bug detection tests. However, these rumors are now described as "inaccurate."

Game Science

Game Science previously shared that Black Myth: Wukong would not be released on Xbox consoles at the same time as the launch on other platforms because of the optimization process. A Microsoft spokesperson also commented that the company was working with Game Science to bring the game to their platforms.

The newly released Black Myth: Wukong was one of the most long-awaited titles and instantly became the most popular single-player game in one day, hitting the number of 2.2 concurrent players. However, the game was not available on Xbox consoles, which was regretted by the community.
