Steam users didn't welcome the game with open arms though.

Following Blizzard Entertainment's announcement of Diablo 4's arrival on Steam concurrent with the launch of its second season, Season of Blood, the game has encountered challenges in terms of its reviews. Although it hasn't plummeted to the depths of Overwatch 2 as one of the worst-reviewed games on Steam, Diablo 4 has faced difficulties in garnering a positive reception so far.

Released on October 17, Diablo 4's current review rating stands at 52.52%, a significant departure from the initial acclaim it received upon its release on Blizzard's Battle.net platform several months ago. Diablo 4 enjoyed a successful launch on Battle.net, breaking sales records and becoming Blizzard's fastest-selling title. However, its introduction to Steam has been met with less enthusiasm. Users on this platform have not only expressed their opinions about the game but also shared their sentiments towards Blizzard as a company. This sentiment aligns with other critiques that highlight recent issues faced by Blizzard.

Despite the challenges, there are positive aspects for Diablo 4. The Season of Blood has received praise for its quality-of-life improvements. While the game has yet to reach Steam's top 100 most-popular games list, its peak concurrent player count of 5,429 is gradually increasing. As for now, there are around 3,656 gamers playing the game at the moment of writing this article.

Some more news on Blizzard, after receiving approval from UK regulators, the long-awaited $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft has been finalized. However, only four days after this announcement, Activision Blizzard games in Brazil, Turkey, and Argentina have seen significant price increases. These price hikes have been particularly striking on Steam, with Turkey witnessing increases ranging from 400 to 1500 percent, while Argentina has experienced a staggering surge of 2300 percent in-game prices.
