The General Manager of the Warcraft franchise has been with Blizzard for more than 12 years.
John Hight, SVP and General Manager of Warcraft, has announced his departure from Blizzard Entertainment after 12 years and 8 months.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Hight joined Blizzard in 2011 and rose through the ranks to be promoted to General Manager of the Warcraft Franchise in 2021, overseeing all Warcraft franchise development, including World of Warcraft and Hearthstone.
Before joining Blizzard, he had experience with over 30 games on various platforms, including Command & Conquer and Neverwinter Nights. During his tenure at Sony Computer Entertainment of America, he played a key role in developing the PlayStation Network and numerous critically acclaimed games, such as flOw, flower, and God of War 3.

As for his next move, Hight has not shared specific plans. However, he expressed his intention to "explore new opportunities and challenges in the industry, and to continue making great games with talented people."
