Metal Slug Tactics New Release Window Announced

It comes along with two exciting updates: a fresh trailer and a demo on Steam that will soon be accessible.

Metal Slug Tactics, a much-anticipated but frequently delayed grid-based tactical spin on the classic run-and-gun Metal Slug series, has dropped exciting news of its new release window, autumn of this year, along with a new trailer.

The trailer reveals protagonists Marco, Eri, Fio, and Tarma leaping into action in turn-based combat, offering a glimpse of the fast-paced, strategic campaign.

Paris-based Leikir Studio, acquired by Focus Home Interactive in February 2022, has been diligently developing the game. Initially, the game was slated for a 2022 launch by Dotemu, a subsidiary of Focus. However, in August 2022, both Leikir Studio and Dotemu decided to delay the release to 2023. With another year of anticipation, we now have a new release window that we hope the game can meet this time.

Described as a "dynamic tactical RPG with a roguelite thrill and experience the iconic run'n'gun action of the original series, redefined," Metal Slug Tactics aims to reignite the charm and nostalgic fun of the iconic METAL SLUG series in a fresh, tactical format.

The game will be playable on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. For those who can't wait to give it a try, the game's first-ever demo will be available for a limited duration from June 10-17 during the Steam Next Fest.
