New Gameplay Footage, Official Trailer & Lucrative Bounty For Split Fiction

Hazelight Studios' founder also revealed more interesting facts about the upcoming game and the studio.

It Takes Two developer's new action-adventure game Split Fiction is finally arriving in a week. No matter if you have already found your Mio or Zoe or if you're actively looking for a partner, we've got something new to share with you: gameplay footage, an official trailer, and some interesting facts about the game, plus a lucrative bounty from Josef Fares, founder and creative director of Hazelight Studios.

The two footage from different sources give us looks into the different aspects of gameplay: First comes an exclusive clip from gaming content creator KAMI, showcasing an intense and stylized motorcycle drive, which caused sweat in the palms, while the new trailer from the developer focuses more on the contract between sci-fi and fantasy worlds and seemingly a sneak peek at the slightly embarrassing first meet between the two:

All these clips have increased players' anticipation for the game, and the team is definitely aware of that. When talking with MinnMax's Ben Hanson, Josef Fares has promised to offer $10,000 for anyone who gets bored in Split Fiction, the same offer that they provided a few years ago for It Takes Two. If you don't find the game to get you excited, you'll get rich for that.

Besides the bounty, the interview also shares many interesting facts about the upcoming game and the studio, revealed with a series of questions and answers. When asked whether he has more game ideas than movie ideas, he admitted to having more concepts for games but said that he would make a movie when the time is right. He personally ranks Split Fiction, which is created by a team of around 80 members, as the No.1 game he has developed. Josef also teased that some content could evoke tears.

The other beloved title from the studio, It Takes Two, has sold 23 million copies, with half of those sales coming from Chinese players, and I am proud to be one of them.

Recently, Josef Fares discussed the creation of Split Fiction, its use of unique mechanics and side quests, and shared his thoughts on how the game industry should develop as a whole. While the studio works closely with EA as the publisher, Josef Fares has a different opinion about EA's CEO Andrew Wilson’s statement that hints live service could make things different for Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Split Fiction is set to release on March 6 on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox X/S. The developer has confirmed that the Steam version does not require the EA app to play.
