Remedy Dropped a Teaser for Alan Wake 2's First DLC

"Night Springs" might be coming very soon.

Remedy, the developer of the beloved Alan Wake franchise, has changed their social media profile from "Remedy Games" to "Poison Pill Entertainment." Accompanying the name change was a simple pill emoji and a tag to the official Alan Wake Twitter account.

This mysterious change immediately prompted speculation about an upcoming DLC announcement. In October 2023, Remedy announced that Alan Wake 2 would receive two expansions. The first, titled "Night Springs" which shows up in the picture of this Twitter post, is projected to debut in late spring 2024 — isn't it exactly late spring now?

Meanwhile, Geoff Keighley, the host of the upcoming Summer Game Fest, also shared the post with an eye emoji. This has been interpreted by some as a hint that the DLC announcement could be made at the Summer Game Fest scheduled for June 7.

Apart from the anticipated DLC, some fans speculate, or say wish, that the name change hints at a physical release of the game. In May last year, Remedy announced that Alan Wake 2 would only be available in digital format, a decision that met with mixed reactions because obviously, some players would prefer physical discs for their longevity and security.

Last month, Remedy unveiled its Q1 2024 financial report which says Alan Wake's sequel hasn't recouped its costs yet. Critics suggest its exclusive launch on Epic Games Store and lack of physical release may have impacted sales. Giving this situation, is it possible that Remedy has changed their mind?
