After the release of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, CD Projekt Red has thrown half of its forces to the new installment of The Witcher series, which is The Witcher 4, or Polaris. The game is still at least three years away from release, but here's what you can expect.
In a recent interview with Lega Nerd, the Director of the upcoming game Sebastian Kalemba shared some details about The Witcher 4, saying that the game will be a good start for those who haven't played it. It's for sure a good tactic for bringing more audience to the beloved franchise.
"The Witcher 4 won't be out for some years, and it'll be a long time since the previous one, so we cannot just target the audience already fond of the saga. We must also build a new community. On that note, I believe I can say it'll be an excellent entry point for many players, without forgetting the long-time fans who still wish to follow Geralt's adventures," shared Kalemba.

Since the game is still in deep development, Kalemba couldn't disclose specific details. However, he hinted that they aim to deliver more than just a rehash of the previous game.
"Our priority is always trying to break boundaries. We want to go beyond them. We want to try and do something new compared to what's currently in roleplaying games, especially since we work within that genre and target RPG fans. I can't say too much, as you can guess, but the idea is to build something that surpasses The Witcher 3, telling a more intense story and crafting a more intense gameplay as well," said Kalemba.
Kalemba emphasized the studio's intention to provide players with ample freedom in gameplay, particularly regarding character customization. However, when it comes to storytelling, the studio is still committed to crafting immersive narratives.
While The Witcher 4 is still far from release, we have insight into what will follow - a remake of the first game. Set after the events of the novels, players will step into the shoes of an amnesiac Geralt, endeavoring to reconstruct his life amidst the chaos.
Considering that Witcher 4 seeks to attract new fans, it's only fitting to provide them with an opportunity to experience where it all started.
