Warner Bros. Changed Its Mind about Delisting Adult Swim Games' Titles

That's definitely a good decision.

Warner Bros. has decided not to remove games from its subsidiary Adult Swim Games from digital stores, despite efforts to cut costs in the video game division.

In March 2024, Warner Bros. initially planned to pull Adult Swim Games titles from stores like Steam and PlayStation Store to reduce expenses related to license renewals, payment transactions to creators, and other operational aspects.

This decision sparked criticism from developers and fans. Instead of having developers independently re-release the games without ties to Adult Swim Games, Warner Bros. has now opted to return full rights to the developers. It remains unclear if this will impact all Adult Swim Games releases or only some popular titles.

"Duck Game is safe!! More details soon, but the email from Warner (Bros.) finally came. The game is being returned to Corptron along with its store pages on all platforms, it's not going anywhere. Thank you everyone... hoping everyone else got the same email," shared Landon Podbielski, the developer behind Duck Game.

"Update: Game will not be 'retired'. Ownership and store listings will return to me," wrote Small Radios Big Televisions developer Owen Deery.

Warner Bro. initially rejected developer requests to transfer game ownership, but the company later reversed course due to resource constraints.
