That's exactly why they closed the Hi-Fi Rush maker.

According to a recent report by The Verge, Matt Booty, Head of Xbox Game Studios, convened a meeting for employees the day after the announcement of the closure of four teams: Tango Gameworks, Arkane Austin, Alpha Dog Games, and Roundhouse Games.

Based on what employees heard, Booty mentioned that Xbox is seeking "smaller games that give prestige and awards." That was something that surprised many people, especially since Microsoft had recently shut down Tango Gameworks, known for producing such titles, like Hi-Fi Rush.

The Verge did not disclose further details from the meeting but hinted that Xbox executives may have struggled to leverage the success of Hi-Fi Rush.

Speaking of Microsoft, their recent decision to close Hi-Fi Rush maker has sparked a wave of criticism, with developers feeling angry and disappointed with the big corporation.
