World Creator 2024.3 Is Now Available

Introducing snow and debris Simulation Layers, a new Primitive Layer type, erosions, filters, distributions, and more.

World Creator

World Creator 2024.3 is the third release of the year, building upon the updates introduced in World Creator 2024 and enhancing BiteTheBytes' real-time, GPU-based terrain and landscape creation tool.

This is a significant update, introducing two new Simulation Layers: one for snow and another for debris. Additionally, a new Primitive Layer type has been added, allowing users to quickly incorporate simple geometric shapes into the base of their terrain. Currently, seven shape types are available: Circle, Donut, Gradient, Helix, Polygon, Square, and Star.

The new Sediment Flows Erosion filter offers a customizable, particle-based erosion system that simulates numerous water droplets. Each droplet carries water that determines the erosion and sediment transport capacity as it moves downward, eroding terrain and depositing sediment along the way for more realistic effects.

Additionally, there are several new effect filters, distributions, and an improved workflow for creating gradient and sat-map materials. The generator itself also sees major performance improvements, making the generation process "about 15% faster" than the previous version.

BiteTheBytes has also updated the software's pricing and licensing, now offering a revenue-based model and reintroducing subscriptions and beta versions. "And we are just getting warm for World Creator 2025.1 coming in 2025! More to come in the next days – stay tuned", teased the developer on its X/Twitter page.
